im in my late 30's and i dont have a car. but i do pay for my kids 2 of them to to a private school as well as pay for everything they need for school. as well as buy them school supplies and grocieries on a weekly basis. I also grew up in new york where a car isnt a needed. i recently moved to the midwest where a car is more needed. plus i work and stay at my job and workand work 12 to 15 hour days.

I usually find articles like this disgusting and pathetic. But honestly after the headline - when she gets into all of the caveats, I have to agree with her logic. She is writing for a US audience and she is writing for grown adults, not teens or college students. This isn't Europe where public transit goes everywhere. Unless you are in a major city (and even then not all of them) you need a car to get anywhere. And again baring all the circumstances she mentions not having one shows you are seriously lazy to stupid.
